The longest running and most dominant sport UTV on the market, Polaris first introduced the RZR XP 1000 in 2014. While it isn’t the top of the food chain anymore, it is still one of the best trail machines available with ample aftermarket support.
One of the first UTVs we focused our product development efforts toward was the Polaris RZR XP 1000. Whether you have a 2014 or a 2022, Shock Therapy has what you need to take your RZR XP1000 suspension performance to the next level.
Here are the best Polaris RZR XP1000 Suspension Upgrades that we would recommend:
Dual-Rate Spring Kit - Likely the single biggest improvement you can make to a RZR XP1000, converting from a dual spring with a collapsed upper tender spring to a true dual-rate has huge advantage. A dual-rate spring kit will reduce washboard chatter and bucking through whoops, as well as increase bottom out resistance and ride height.
Tie Rods with Bump Steer Delete (BSD) - Shock Therapy Tie Rod Kits feature a proprietary inner joint made from much stronger materials than stock, all while retaining stock geometry.Manufactured from Billet Aluminum Rod with highest quality 5/8” rod end with teflon liner, these tie rods also come with their patented Bump Steer Delete (BSD Kit). Front Limit Straps - At full extension shocks can make a loud clunk that feels like a hammer against the chassis. If you run aftermarket, heavier wheels and tires this clunk gets much worse. Although the shocks have extension stops internally, they are tuned to the factory wheel and tire weight and can't handle increased load on the system––thus resulting in front end clunk. A Shock Therapy Limit Strap kit cures the clunk and saves your shocks.
Heavy Duty Radius Rods - OEM radius rods are weak and can easily bend, causing more extensive damage. Shock Therapy’s radius rods are not only much stronger than stock, but also come with left hand and right hand thread for easy adjustment.
Ride-Improvement System - Shock Therapy’s custom tailors their internal valving to your driving style and the different terrain you ride. The modifications help promote plushness through small chop and chatter, increased bottom out resistance at full compression, and removes stiff ride quality at moderate-to-low speeds.
In addition, if your RZR XP1000 is more than a few years old, it is definitely time to service your shocks. Just like your engine or transmission, shocks need to be serviced regularly to perform at their best. Shock oil can break down and seals can wear out after 2500 miles or so.Shock Therapy recommends having your shocks serviced on a regular basis to keep them performing at factory specs.
