While everyone wants our world-class UTV suspension parts and service, not everyone lives close to our shop in Phoenix, AZ. If you aren’t able to bring us your vehicle for Shock Service and/or Shock Upgrades (valving, springs kits, etc.), you can also ship us your shocks.
0). Call and make an appointment - (623) 217-4959
1). Take the shocks off your UTV.
2). Decide whether you want to keep your stock springs. If you do, we recommend removing them before shipping. This will save you money in shipping, as we don't ship factory springs back in the same box as the shocks. If you decide to keep them after they are here, there will be an added shipping cost to return them.
If you are purchasing a spring kit and decide to remove the stock springs, please send us the crossovers, preload collars, all of the plastic spring dividers and retainers with guards, as well as the plastic adapters if applicable.
3). Remove and keep all of your shock spacers (misalignment spacers) and o-rings to with your shock bolts. They are not necessary for us, and guaranteed to get lost in shipping if you send them! Also note, we do not have replacement o-rings and spacers for the upper and lower shock mounts of Walker Evans shocks, so please do not send them unless they’re stuck in there.
4). If your shocks are especially dirty, knock off any chunks of mud or debris and spray them off with a hose before shipping.
5). Box up the shocks. For ease of processing, please include a note inside the box with the customer name and appointment date. We recommend leaving extra space around the shock for padding/packing material in order to prevent it from shifting around in the box during transit. While most shipping locations usually have all the needed packing materials, we want to emphasize that carriers often do not handle them carefully, so it’s imperative to pack everything safely.
If you are shipping electronically adjustable shocks (Live Valve, Smart Shox), take extra care to protect the plastic connectors because they are fragile!
If you decide to take your factory springs off you can fit them in a much smaller box after you let the nitrogen out. Use bubble wrap. It works the best. Please do not use packing peanuts, towels, or blankets (they don't work!)
How NOT to ship shocks: using towels (which don't work!), especially for protecting electronic shock connectors, which can crack during shipping.
How to PROPERLY ship shocks: bubble wrap each individual shock; tape in place. Fill in any excess void in the box to ensure items cannot move around during shipping.
Shocks that are able to move around in the box, as pictured here, can easily get damaged during transit.
6). Take them to the UPS store or FedEx and ship them. Adding shipping insurance is a must. Be sure to insure them for the amount of the price of the shocks.
7). Please email shipping@shocktherapyst.com your tracking # so that we know when to expect them. When you email us, please list any special instructions you might have along with your name and return shipping info.
8). We recommend reading our installation instructions for your kit in advance. Look up your year, make, and model in the instructions section of the website. Use the Level 4 Spring instructions for your car to see how to install your shocks and set your ride height correctly when you get your shocks back. These instructions will also walk you through adjusting the shocks to suit your particular riding style best. If you have any questions about these adjustments, let us know when we are sending your shocks back to you so we can help you before you install your shocks again.
